Light calcined magnesia
With other names like caustic magnesium oxide or light burned magnesium oxide, the light calcined magnesia is a kind of magnesia oxide produced by calcination magnesite at 700-900°C (unlike heavy magnesia oxide, which is calcined at no less than 1000°C), and this type of magnesia oxide generally exhibits good reactivity.
Light calcined magnesia is mainly used as raw material for making ceramics, enamel, refractory crucibles, and refractory bricks. It is also used as a polishing agent, binder, filler for coatings and paper, promoter, and activator for chloroprene rubber and fluororubber. In medicine, it is used as an antacid and mild laxative for diseases like hyperacidity, stomach, and duodenal ulcers. In the chemical industry, it is used as a catalyst and raw material for manufacturing magnesium salts.
The briquette machine
Maxton’s roll briquette machine is an ideal machine for pressing calcined magnesium oxide to briquette, no matter what the purity is. By using our strong and powerful machine, it can be turned into qualified briquette.
Flexible and economical
A dry briquette process for magnesium oxide with near zero moisture is economical, dry feed material from an almost unlimited number of sources and without special requirements on particle size or distribution for magnesium oxide makes the technology gaining increasing importance in the industry.
The fine magnesium oxide particles are subjected to a sufficiently high pressure in our roller briquetting machine to squeeze together and thus freeze the pure soda ash we used or the desired formulation.
The briquetting plant
The process consists of turning magnesium oxide into briquette.
A force feeder feeds the magnesium oxide between two rotating parallel rollers turning in opposite directions. This process allows the formation of briquettes.
The quality of magnesium oxide briquette determines the compression roller speed and the pressure level, high pressure briquette machine is the best way to make this type of briquetting due to the quality requirement.
